In November 2011, I was commisioned by Ian Lewis to design a range of furniture. It was a very open brief, I was excited and a week later presented him with some cad renders. They were met with shock and amazment. Not what was imagined but so much better. Then came the hard part - making them!
We both had a common interest. Made in Britain! We contacted several makers. Eventually found the right people, and Pride & Joy Furniture was formed to sell the range. It was no longer just for Ian's own home, everyone should be able to buy them.
I decided to launch the “42 Range” for Pride & Joy Furniture this year at Tent London with Pride & Joy Furniture was set up this year by Ian with the aim of producing stylish and accessible top-quality furniture made in Britain. This is my 3rd year exhibiting at London Design Festival with a range that will be your pride and joy to fit any home.
Pride & Joy will offer everything from classic styles, using tip-top timbers and traditional craftsman skills, right through to contemporary pieces using the latest technology and a wide variety of materials. All made and designed in Britain.
There are no secrets how its made - if you want to see your product being made… just ask. All the products in the 42 Range are made using traditional techniques to produce a modern and contemporary collection of furniture and matching accessories. Each piece is lovingly made and finished by hand by skilled craftsmen in Britain.
